Destinations:
Chennai – Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry – Trichy – Thanjavur – Madurai – Thekkady – Alappuzha (Houseboat) – Kochi
Day 1: Chennai Arrival
Arrival in Chennai. Transfer to Hotel. Chennai, also known as the ‘Gateway to the South India’ was established in 1639 and represents a distinctive culture in sharp contrast with North India. Afternoon, leave for sightseeing tour of Chennai with visit to “Kapaleeshwarar Temple”, “Santhome Basilica” & “Marina Beach”. Overnight stay at Chennai.
Day 2: To Pondicherry via Mahabalipuram
Morning drive to Mahabalipuram (1.5 hrs drive), a port city of Pallava dynasty built in 7th century. Visit to the World Heritage Sites of Group of Monuments at Mahabalipuram – “Shore Temple”, “Arjuna’s Penance” and “Five Rathas”, known for its magnificient architecture carved in stone. Transfer to Pondicherry (2 hrs drive). Enroute visit Auroville. a unique experiment in international living and in creating a new environment where men and women of all nationalities live together in harmony. Evening visit Aurobindo Ashram, Arulmigu Manakula Vinayagar Temple and Promenade Beach. Overnight stay at Pondicherry.
Day 3: To Thanjavur via Trichy
Early Morning drive to Trichy (4 hrs drive). Later drive to Trichy, situated on the banks of river Cauvery and ruled by the Cholas, Pandyas, Nayaks, Marathas, Carnatic Nawabs, French and British. The city around rock fort is a fine blend of tradition, heritage and modern environment. Visit to “Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple” at Srirangam & RockFort Temple .Later in the afternoon transfer to Thanjavur (1 hr drive), an important centre of South Indian religion, art and architecture. Many temples of Thanjavur termed as ‘Great Living Chola Temples’ have been classified as the World Heritage Monuments by the UNESCO. Overnight stay at Thanjavur.
Day 4: To Madurai
Morning visit to “Brihadeeswarar Temple”, “Thanjavur Palace & Museum”, “Bronze Workshop”. Later transfer to Madurai (3 hrs drive), an ancient city around 2600 years old situated in the banks or River Vaigai where ancient Tamil classics recorded the Meenakshi temple as the centre of the city and the surrounding streets appearing like lotus and its petals. Historically, Madurai is also called as the ‘Athens of the East’. Overnight stay at Madurai.
Day 5: To Thekkady
Morning visit to “Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple” & “Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal”. Later drive to Thekkady (4 hrs drive) famous for the Periyar National Park. Evening boat ride in Periyar Lake. Overnight stay at Thekkady.
Day 6: To Alappuzha (Houseboat)
Early morning drive to Alappuzha (5 hrs drive). Afternoon, you will be taken aboard your floating houseboat (Kettuvallam), boat with bedroom and en-suite rest room for your comfort. Enjoy unlimited cruising on backwaters, sip a coconut, get disturbed by only the chirping of birds and occasional ripples in water and savor mouthwatering delicacies prepared in front of you by your kitchen crew. Overnight stay in Houseboat.
Day 7: To Kochi
Morning check out from Houseboat and drive to Kochi (2.5 hrs drive). Half Day sightseeing with visit to the Dutch Palace (Mattancherry Palace), built by the Portuguese and presented to the Raja of Cochin Veera Kerala Varma, Jewish Synagogue, where scrolls of the Old Testament and copper plates inscribed in Hebrew script are preserved, Jews Street, St. Francis Church, built in 1503, the oldest European church in India where the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama’s body was originally buried, Santa Cruz Basilica, the Roman Catholic church with beautiful paintings on the ceiling & the Chinese fishing nets. Overnight stay at Kochi.
Day 8: Departure
Transfer to Kochi Airport to catch the next flight to your destination

The package is only an offer and not a confirmation. We shall proceed with your booking only after we receive your confirmation and your deposit of 50% of total trip and full payment before Package starts.

- The hotel reserves the right of admission. Accommodation can be denied to guests, suitable proof of identification is not presented at check-in. We will not be responsible for any check-in denied by the hotel due to the foresaid reason.
